Filipe Caldeira

Polytechnic Institute of Viseu

Filipe Caldeira is a Professor at the Informatics Department  of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, Portugal. He currently teaches courses in areas including computer networks, systems and network security and database systems to students in Informatics Engineering, Technology and Design of Multimedia, Instalation and Maintenance of computer networks and systems, and international semesters.

Filipe holds a PhD in Informatics Engineering from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra. He also holds a degree and a MsC in Informatics Engineering, both from that same university.

Filipe is a researcher at the Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra where he recently has been involved in European research project FP7 MICIE. His main research interests include ICT security, namely, policy-based management, trust and reputation systems, Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection.

He is a member of Ordem dos Engenheiros (Portuguese Engineers Guild).

Filipe Caldeira é atualmente professor no Departamento de Informática na Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão de Viseu, do Instituto Politécnico de Viseu. Tem lecionado disciplinas nas áreas de redes de computadores, segurança de sistemas e redes e bases de dados dos cursos de  Engenharia Informática, Tecnologias e Design de Multimédia, Instalação e Manutenção de Redes e Sistemas Informáticos e semestres internacionais.

É doutorado em Engenharia Informática pela Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de Coimbra. O grau de mestre e a licenciatura, ambos em Engenharia Informática, foram-lhe também conferidos por essa instituição.

É membro investigador do Centro de Informática e Sistemas da Universidade de Coimbra (CISUC). Os seus interesses em termos de investigação científica incluem a segurança em sistemas e redes, confiança e reputação e segurança em infrastruturas criticas. Recentemente esteve envolvido no projecto MICIE FP7.

É membro efetivo do colégio de informática da Ordem dos Engenheiros, Portugal.
